I am a Master of Fine Arts student currently working on my master's thesis, scheduled to graduate in May, 2010. My passion lies in how understanding people's needs, values, and stories can inform and shape design solutions. This passion, coupled with my background in journalism and print design, makes me an extremely capable researcher, communicator, and designer.
My interests range from participatory design processes, visual sense-making, and design ethics to information technology, communications, and the news industry, as well as topics I'm currently exploring like design education and cultural anthropology. While seemingly disparate, the common thread running through all my interests is how design can improve people's lives.
